This is the story of my first and probably most successful project to date.
At the turn of 2018 and 19, at the turn of semesters 1 and 2 of my 2nd year at NAU (now KAI), I wanted to see the schedule that I looked at in my dorm almost every day in a more pleasant design. That's how the picture on the right appeared:
Over time, I realized that it would be cool if students of other groups and faculties could get their schedules in the same design, but how to scale one PDF to a hundred of different schedules? Should I create a Word document and ask everyone to fill it with their schedules?
No, I decided to create a website for this purpose, which would take data from another timetable website and where the student would be able to press Ctrl + P and print the timetable in a new design. In the process, I realized that the site shouldn't just be a layout for a printed sheet, it could be the final product! I added features like saving the schedule in memory, the ability to work offline (Service Workers), automatic highlighting of the right day, and a timer until the next class.
At the best of times, more than 700 students a month looked at my schedule. Now, the source where the app used to get the information is no longer working. So now it's just a story, but one of my loved ones.
